Relying on the strong science and technology support of Guangdong Second Provincial Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital and Guangdong Provincial TCM Research Institute which is upgraded as Guangdong Chinese Medicine Engineering Technology Research Institute now.
Yifang systematic researches on the single TCM concentrated granules processing engineering, quality standard, clinical efficacy, and safety etc., which established solid technical foundation for industrialization of single TCM concentrated granules.
Over the last decade, together with Guangdong Provincial TCM Research Institute we undertook 35 research subjects on single TCM concentrated granules including provincial and ministry-levels, and was ever honored national second prize of science and technology process one time, Guangdong provincial first prize of science and technology once and second prize twice.
The established institutions in the Science and Technology centre of Yifang now includes:
Laboratory of TCM preparation, Laboratory of TCM Analysis, Laboratory of TCM Pharmacology, The key technologies focuses Laboratory of TCM granules, Laboratory of Standardization, TCM Based source, origin, and concocted research laboratory, pilot plant and so on.
Among which the Laboratory of TCM preparation, analysis and pharmacology are national laboratories (Third Grade).
There are 61 R&D staff in Yifang, among which 12 people are with senior professional title, 23 with intermediate title, and 18 with primary title. 2 with postdoctoral experience, 5 with PhD 's degree, 18 with Master’s degree, and 4 experts with special allowance from the state council.
Yifang has nearly 3,000 square meters of experimental site and owns assets of research equipment which is worth about 30 million.
The main equipment include:
1 High performance capillary electrophoresis (HPCE), 1 Gas-chromatograph-mass spectrometer (GC-MS), 1 Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometer (LC-MS), 10 high performance liquid chromatograph (HPLC), 1 inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometer (ICP), 3 Gas chromatograph (GC) 3. Thin layer chromatograph (TLC), 1 Infrared spectrometer (IR), 2 Ultraviolet spectrograph (UV), 1 Atomic Absorption Spectrometer, pharmacology, 400 square meters of SPF animal lab and multiple sets of pilot equipment.
For some varieties that require special treatment, modern high-tech pharmaceutical technology is used, such as: * For some medicinal materials whose active ingredients are insoluble in water, such as salvia miltiorrhiza, angelica, turmeric, etc., the oily active ingredients are extracted with supercritical carbon dioxide and then decocted to extract the active ingredients of the medicinal materials.
